Dewi Lestari

Dewi Lestari has been guiding visitors around Borobudur since 2022. She is Javanese, lives in the Yogyakarta region, and has walked more than a thousand international travellers through the temple's relief panels and up onto its terraces.

Her focus is the thing most visitors miss. Borobudur is not just the silhouette in the photographs. It is a Mahayana Buddhist monument whose walls carry a narrative you can actually follow, panel by panel, if someone shows you where to look. Dewi explains the carvings, the architecture, and what the place means to the people who live around it.

She guides sunrise visits and daytime ones. She works with couples, families, and small groups, and she is careful about the fact that Borobudur is a sacred site rather than a backdrop. The tours featured on this site follow the routes she guides, from the dawn viewpoint at Punthuk Setumbu through the climb itself and on to Prambanan.

What this site is, and is not

Borobudur Temple Tour is the online home of Dewi's own tours. The three tours featured here are hers, listed on GetYourGuide and Viator, and this site exists to help travellers find them and book through the platforms' official listings. We are not the temple's operator and not the ticketing authority; entry rules and ticket prices belong to InJourney, the state operator, and we report them rather than set them. Being the guide's own site is also why the copy can afford to be straight with you: it says that no official daily climb quota exists behind the scarcity marketing other sellers use, and that most "sunrise tours", Dewi's included, watch dawn from a hill facing the temple rather than from it. Her tours win on being good, not on invented urgency.

How the facts stay honest

Every figure on this site traces to the official operator's published pages, the tour listings' own review data, or a named statement, each with the date it was checked kept on file. Where a number could not be verified, the page says so instead of printing one; the foreign climb price is the standing example, shown only in the official booking flow and therefore never quoted here as a fixed figure. When something we published turns out stale, it gets corrected rather than defended.
